What Teamwork does well
Teamwork has been building agency-focused software for over 15 years and it shows. The project management layer is genuinely mature: task dependencies, milestones, time tracking tied directly to budget burn, and a client portal that clients can actually use without confusion. The Gantt chart and resource scheduling tools are particularly well-developed for teams managing multiple concurrent projects.
The helpdesk product (Teamwork Desk) is a proper support ticketing system with SLA management, and Teamwork CRM rounds out a fairly comprehensive suite. Unlike ClickUp or Monday.com, Teamwork wasn't retrofitting agency features — it was built with them in mind.
Where Marque has the edge
Teamwork's per-user pricing looks manageable at 3 people. At 10 it starts to sting. At 15 you're paying well over £200/mo before you've added their CRM or Desk products — both of which are separate products with their own billing. This is the single most surprising omission for a platform that calls itself agency-first. Teamwork has no concept of site monitoring. Marque monitors uptime, SSL certificates, and WordPress plugin versions for every client site, surfacing issues directly in the client record.
